The aim of this study was to investigate the synthesis iron oxide pigments from IOT. sample IOT obtained through mining activity Quadrilátero Ferrífero in state Minas Gerais, Brazil. procedure carried out by hot acid leaching with hydrochloric (HCl) which allowed recovery about 95% a liquor. iron-based pigments—red (IBP_R), black (IBP_B), and yellow (IBP_Y)—were synthetised liquor selective precipitation, crystallisation, thermal procedures. were characterised particle size distribution, mineral chemical compositions, as well colourimetric properties. process successful shown maximise utilisation resources minimise environmental, social, economic impacts associated disposal.
